Olmeca Silver Tequila comes from Los Altos, Mexico. "The Highlands" of tequila are famous for their red clay soils and higher altitudes. These tequilas tend to be sweeter and more floral, as illustrated by Olmeca Silver. The blue agaves, native to the Jalisco state, are hand-harvested and undergo two distillations which ensure a pure and flavourful result.

The story of Olmeca

Olmeca is a tequila from the Los Altos highlands of Jalisco in Mexico, and the brand is owned by Pernod Ricard. Agave for it is hand-selected in those same highlands, so the region in the brand's story is also where the raw material is grown.

What makes Olmeca different

Olmeca's agaves are hand-selected from the Los Altos highlands and slow-roasted in traditional brick ovens before distillation, which is carried out in traditional copper pot stills. The aged expressions then go into ex-bourbon casks: the Reposado is aged a minimum of 5 months, and the Extra Aged a minimum of 13 months in small ex-bourbon casks.
