Anthonij Rupert

Anthonij Rupert is a premium red wine producer based on the L'Ormarins estate in Franschhoek, South Africa, and Johann Rupert owns the business. He built the Anthonij Rupert Cellar in 2005, in memory of his brother Anthonij Rupert, who ran the family's L'Ormarins estate from 1984 until his death in 2001. The family has held L'Ormarins since 1968.

Anthonij Rupert's grapes are handpicked in the cool morning hours and hand-sorted. Premium blocks are fermented in 225L French oak barrels rotated every four hours, undergo malolactic fermentation in barrel, then age up to two years in new French oak before bottling. L'Ormarins' Cap Classique wines are made from Chardonnay and Pinot Noir using the traditional Méthode Champenoise, and the estate is a member of the Cap Classique Producers Association.
