San Pellegrino was founded in 1899 at San Pellegrino Terme in Italy, and the brand is owned today by Nestlé. It makes Italian mineral waters alongside a range of sparkling fruit drinks, and both sides of that range still carry the San Pellegrino name.

The fruit behind the sparkling drinks comes from named Italian growing areas. Lemons and chinotto for the flavoured drinks are grown in Sicily, and the oranges are harvested in southern Italy. The mineral water side of the range takes its name from San Pellegrino Terme, the Italian town the brand comes from.
