Inverroche Verdant Gin was one of the earliest South Africa gins introduced to the market in 2011. Inverroche Verdant combines fresh floral botanicals of South Africa with spices and berries from India and Europe. For an additional boost in taste, the spirit goes through a brief infusion of late summer blooms after distillation, which impacts a delicate crisp, green note. Inverroche’s name originates from two words that pay homage to Scottish ancestry, referencing their Celtic and Gaelic backgrounds. The Scottish word “Inver - means “a confluence of water,” and the French word “Roche” means ‘rock or stone.’ Lorna Scott and her family founded Inverroche, and the distillery has gone on to become a household name in the Western Cape of South Africa, precisely the Stillbaai area. In six years, the distillery has gone from being a small home industry to a household name, flourishing and pioneering craft distillery, using their gins to reconnect people to each other and the natural environment.
