The story of Martell

Martell is a prestige cognac house that dates from 1715 and comes from the Charente region of France. It has been owned by Pernod Ricard since 2001. Everything the house bottles begins as eaux-de-vie, the clear spirit distilled from grapes, and the Martell name has been attached to that work since 1715.

What makes Martell different

Martell uses a traditional double-distillation method to turn grapes into eaux-de-vie, the spirit at the base of every cognac. The house then blends: its Cordon Bleu combines more than 100 eaux-de-vie in a single bottling. Distillation and blending are the two steps that decide what ends up in the glass.
