The story of Martini

Martini was founded in 1863 in Turin, Italy, by Alessandro Martini, Teofilo Sola and Luigi Rossi. It was Luigi Rossi who created the vermouth recipe the company was founded on. The business also established a production plant at Pessione. Today the Martini name covers vermouth, sparkling wines and bitter spirits.

What distinguishes Martini is the spread it covers from one house: vermouth, sparkling wines and bitter spirits. The vermouth goes back to the recipe Luigi Rossi created to found the company. The sparkling wines are made by the tank-fermentation method developed by the enologist Federico Martinotti, which takes his name and is known as the Martinotti method.
