The story of Darling Cellars

Darling Cellars was founded in 1997 on the West Coast of South Africa, between Malmesbury and Darling. Its wines have been recognised by South African and international judges since: the Chocoholic Pinotage 2023 took Double Gold at the 2025 Michelangelo Wine Awards, the Sir Charles Cabernet Sauvignon/Merlot 2023 took Silver at the 2026 IWSC, and the Chocoholic Pinotage took Platinum in the 2024 South African Wine Index (SAWi).

What makes Darling Cellars different

What distinguishes Darling Cellars is how it farms. About 95% of the estate's roughly 600 hectares under vine are unirrigated dryland bush vines, farmed by dry farming that relies on natural rainfall, and the cool Atlantic Benguela current slows ripening. The Reserve Pyjama Bush Sauvignon Blanc/Grenache took Double Gold at Veritas in 2025.
