The story of Du Toitskloof

Du Toitskloof was founded in 1962 by six wine farmers, as a co-operative. The cellar is at Rawsonville in the Breedekloof Valley of the Western Cape, South Africa, and it is a Fairtrade-certified producer. The majority of its grapes are sourced from within 10km of the cellar.

What makes Du Toitskloof different

The viticulture is closely managed rather than left to the season. Vines are grafted onto Richter 99 and 101-14 rootstocks, irrigation is managed by hydrometer readings, and leaf canopy management is used to keep the bunches shaded. Grapes are then harvested at optimum physiological ripeness, and the majority of the fruit comes from within 10km of the cellar.
