The story of Diemersdal

Diemersdal is a wine estate in Durbanville, Cape Town, South Africa. It is owned by the Louw family, now the sixth generation, who have been on the property since 1885. In 1979 it was officially declared a wine estate and released its first wine under its own label.

What makes Diemersdal different

Diemersdal's grapes are grown on the cool, dryland slopes of the Drostberg, which lets them ripen uniformly. That site is the estate's own explanation for how its Durbanville wines are made. In 2013 the MM Louw Sauvignon Blanc took the General Smuts Trophy for overall Best Wine at the South African Young Wine Show.
