Quoin Rock is a wine estate in the Simonsberg Mountain foothills at Stellenbosch, South Africa. Vitaly Gaiduk became its owner in 2012, and Denis Gaiduk is chief executive. Parts of the vineyard go back further than that: heritage blocks on the property include old vines planted in 1980.
Quoin Rock's vineyards sit on weathered decomposed granite, Hutton and clay soils on westerly-facing slopes, in a Mediterranean climate moderated by cool Atlantic breezes. A high-density replanting programme began in 2014, running alongside heritage vineyard blocks that include old vines planted in 1980.
