Glenmorangie was founded in 1843 by William Matheson, together with his wife Anne, at Tain in Ross-shire, in the Scottish Highlands. It is a single malt Scotch whisky made at that distillery, and it is owned today by Moët Hennessy, part of LVMH.
The stills are the distinguishing feature at Glenmorangie. They stand the same height as a giraffe, and that extra height gives the spirit more contact with copper as it distils. The distillery links that copper contact to a lighter, fruitier character in the whisky. It is a single malt Scotch whisky made at Tain, in the Scottish Highlands.
Glenmorangie says to enjoy it neat, with a little water, or with two to three large rocks of ice. That covers most of the ways a single malt gets poured at home, and none of them need anything more than a glass and, if you want it, ice.
